Order of the Arrow

Posted by admin on Feb 28 2015 - 2:50pm

Hi Everyone,
This is a long email with many attachments please read carefully.
Consistency in meetings is a huge problem every Thursday. As I respectfully want all the boys in the Troop 33 program to be well rounded and multi-talented, it is difficult to execute programs, advancement methods, scout-craft and trips without consistency in attendance. The Troop committee and I discuss regularly what we feel would and could correct some of these situations. ALL parents are welcome to come to Troop committee meetings. I have also devised a plan to have regular parent meetings "think tanks" every Thursday down the hall in the High School room pending approval from the church. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Please don't feel I am pointing a finger at any one boy or family.. I am merely trying to solve a continuity problem that will improve the program for all of us..

All;

We are in the process of planning the May camping trip which will be on May 1-3. We are planning a trip to Strasburg Railroad in Strasburg, PA. The plan is for a ride on a historic steam train, a visit to the Strasburg Railroad Museum and a behind-the-scenes Shop Tour. (The Shop Tour may be limited to 25 people).

Scout Sunday

Posted by admin on Feb 4 2015 - 7:47am

Hello scouts and parents,

This years Scout Sunday will take place on 2/22 at 10:00 am at the church. As in years past, we are looking for our young men to assist with some of the activities during the service. We will be looking for help in the following areas; greeters, ushers, liturgists, and after the service with coffee hour. There will be more details to follow, but please mark this date down on your calendars. Scout Sunday gives us an opportunity to work on the reverence component of scouting, but also allows us to give back in a very small way to our charter organization.
